Now what?

To accept Jesus as the Lord of your life is a statement that has a lot of weight to it. This is an acknowledgement of who is in control. He should not be a co-pilot but the pilot. He is not a suggestion maker but the one to obey. The definition of the word Lord is “a person who has authority, control, or power over others; a master, chief, or ruler.” To call and accept Jesus as your “Lord” is the way to eternal life (Romans 10:13). Once this decision is made, you must obey what Jesus commands. We are to increase our faith and trust in Jesus. Life does NOT become easy when following Jesus. In fact, in times it may become increasingly difficult. However, the bible says that it is in those difficult time that helps us grow (James 1:2-5). We are to be disciples; those who are willing to learn and be like Jesus (Luke 6:40). We need to put Jesus first and live each day with the intention of living for Him, not ourselves (Luke 9:23-25). True life is to have a relationship with the one true God (John 17:3). This comes by daily prayer and allowing God to challenge you to grow. Apart from Him, there is no healthy spiritual growth. (John 15:1-8) Get a bible. This is how God speaks and has spoken over time (2nd Timothy 3:14-17). If you do not understand something in regards to God, ask Him to show you the answer (James 1:25, Matthew 7:7). The bible is your weapon against all that opposes. Get involved in a local church! Altough you may feel as though you can walk through life on your own, we are told to build each other up and ecourage each other. (Hebrews 10:25) We are called the ‘Body of Christ’ and as a body we cannot operate on our own(1st Corinthians 12:12-27)
