How can I change?

To change anything we need to first understand what it is we should be changing. The reality is that we are sinful human beings. Not everyone reading this may be guilty of what first comes to mind discussing sin. Most people think of murder, adultery, drug-use, etc. However, sin is simply igonoring what God wants and breaking His law. In God’s eyes, noone can say they are innocent of sin (Romans 3:23). The reality is that sin needs punishment. That punishment calls for death and is the only justice under God’s law (Romans 6:23). In the old days, the Jews needed to sacrifice a spotless lamb for forgiveness of sin. The crazy part is that Jesus stepped in as that spotless lamb (John 1:29, Romans 8:3).  The powerful message of the gift of Jesus is that although there is no question of our guilt, He brought the weight of sin on Himself. He stepped in place of our judgement. The good news is that God loved us so much that even in all the junk we have been involved in, He still wanted to free us from it (Romans 5:8). So to the part where you need to change. This is what the bible says you need to do: Confess your sins… Romans 10:9-10, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” Romans 10:13, “For Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord, will be saved.”
